Griff Towle is a principal in the firm and an experienced trial attorney. He represents clients in a variety of commercial cases, including class actions, franchise and related regulatory litigation, business and partnership disputes, real estate litigation, employment law matters, and intellectual property litigation.
Mr. Towle has successfully tried and arbitrated many cases involving franchise, intellectual property, partnership, contract and tort claims. In addition, he has substantial experience in mediation and other types of ADR.
Most recently, Mr. Towle has represented a Fortune 1000 energy holding company in a dispute with a municipality, the FDIC, a major financial services company in a purported class action, an international staffing firm in a dispute with several of its franchisees, and the investors in a Ponzi scheme.
Mr. Towle is the former Co-Chair of the Franchise Law Committee for the State Bar of California and served on the Steering Committee of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division of the Forum on Franchising for the American Bar Association. He is co-editor of the Franchise Litigation Handbook published by the ABA and Associate Editor of the Franchise Law Journal. Mr. Towle has also authored numerous articles and spoken on a variety of topics related to commercial litigation and issues involving franchising.
