Jayne Laiprasert is Senior Counsel at the firm with particular expertise in intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Her practice covers a diverse range of business areas including patent litigation, copyright, trademark and trade secrets, antitrust, and contract disputes.
Ms. Laiprasert has litigated or otherwise counseled clients for intellectual property matters in fields ranging from electrical, mechanical, and chemical technologies, including memory devices, CMOS image sensors, and medical equipment. She has successfully represented clients at trial and appellate levels in federal courts and arbitration forums throughout the United States.
In addition, Ms. Laiprasert has extensive experience litigating complex commercial matters, representing a major energy holding company in a dispute with a municipality, an international staffing firm in a dispute with several franchisees, and serving as counsel to the Creditors’ Committee in several corporate reorganizations. She also assisted in the representation of the American Bar Association as amicus curiae in support of the petitioner in Rompilla v. Beard, and successfully urged the United States Supreme Court to consider the ABA’s Guidelines for the Appointment and Performance of Counsel in Death Penalty Cases as evidence of prevailing professional norms.

Solar Universe. (D. Nevada/AAA) Enforced trademark rights in breach of contract and unfair competition action arising from franchise relationship.
Wells Fargo v. ABD. (N.D. Cal.) Represent defendants in trademark case over business name; twice defeated Wells Fargo’s motions for preliminary injunction.
Geron v. ViaCyte. Successful defense of Section 146 appeal of patent interference action based on PTO Board of Appeals’ finding of lack of enablement.
Major Construction Equipment Manufacturer. (E.D. Cal.) Defeated motion for preliminary injunction seeking to enjoin termination of dealership relationship.
Software License Disputes. Represented Washington Mutual/JP Morgan in disputes over copyright and software license agreements concerning database software.
Allflex USA, Inc. (C.D. Cal.) Defended RFID patents relating to companion animal microchipping.
Immersion Medical, Inc. (N.D. Ohio) Enforced medical simulator device patents.
